The Regional Municipality of Peel is located in Southern Ontario and consists of three municipalities to the west and northwest of Toronto: the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga, and the Town of Caledon. The entire Region of Peel - including the cities of Mississauga and Brampton as well as the Town of Caledon - is part of the Greater Toronto Area and the "inner ring" of The Golden Horseshoe.
Peel's regional seat is in Brampton. After Toronto, Peel Region is the second-largest municipality in Ontario. Thanks to immigration and a total of seven "400-series" highways serving the Region, as well as Toronto Pearson International Airport located completely within its boundaries, Peel Region is a rapidly growing area with a young population. Mississauga occupies the southernmost portion of the region; in the centre is Brampton; the northernmost area is Caledon - a beautiful, rural area primarily, with rolling hills, horse and hobby farms, great forested areas, and interesting towns & villages.
